We strive to put the customer in a premier quality product that best fits their financial and health care needs. After determining the right products to offer customers, we select companies that have strong and trusted brand names, "A" financial ratings, and very competitively priced products.
Medicare supplement plan benefits are regulated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and have strict plan designs to protect Seniors from choosing plans with lesser benefits. The fixed benefit designs of Plans A through J make assessment typically a function of price. In 2010 we reviewed Medicare supplement plans in every state in the country based on price. The majority of states, the most competitively priced plans were offered by Mutual of Omaha, AARP, Gerber Life, the local Blue Cross plan and occasionally a regional health insurance company. We therefore concluded that if we offered Mutual of Omaha (and its subsidiaries, including United of Omaha), AARP, and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we should adhere to our customers with a convenient portfolio of plans that represented the client interests. Further, these plans all offer long-term price stability and security for a senior that will likely hold on to the selected plan for their duration on Medicare (as it is difficult to change plans after the initial eligibility period).
For Medicare Advantage, we took a comparable approach in recognizing products to offer our customers. Our focus has always been on strong trusted names, "A" ratings from the rating agencies, obligation to the business, dedication to service, and strong physician and hospital networks. The plans that fit that description are from Humana, AARP, Coventry, and Wellpath. Medicare Advantage plans change their prices and benefits every year and we believe that those large companies with commitment to the product are going to offer the most stable and best value over time for the costumer. Our agents do have access to these products and are shown to our clients and sold when suitable.
